DISCOVERING VIETNAMESE HISTORY THROUGH CREATIVE COMIC STORIES
How engaging can history become when it is retold through students’ own perspectives?
Over the course of a three-week project, Grade 7 students at Sedbergh Vietnam explored eight historical figures and the key events associated with them. Drawing on these stories, each group created hand-drawn comic books, bringing historical moments to life with their own creativity and artistic expression.
Guided by teachers from History–Geography, Literature, and Art, students not only deepened their understanding of historical events but also learned to translate knowledge into engaging visual narratives through imagery and dialogue. In doing so, they developed creative thinking, teamwork, and presentation skills, which are key competencies within an international learning environment.
