A FIELD TRIP TO THE TEKCOM FACTORTY WITH SEDBERGH VIETNAM’S STUDENTS

Introducing students to the business world at an early stage is one of the most effective ways to help them understand that learning should never be separated from real life. Through a field trip to the TEKCOM factory – a Vietnamese company based in Binh Duong that specialises in the production of plywood and interior products, operating with a modern approach and international-scale standards – Grade 9 students in Sedbergh Vietnam’s IGCSE Monolingual Programme had the opportunity to step beyond the classroom and see how knowledge is applied in practice.

During the visit, students not only explored the production line and observed how artificial intelligence and automation are used within the factory, but also broadened their understanding of careers, technology, and the capabilities needed for the future. Through the company presentation, Q&A session, and reflection activities with teachers, the trip became a meaningful learning experience that enabled students to understand business concepts through real-world observation, critical thinking, and the ability to connect knowledge with everyday life.
