Charity event at Can Gio

As global citizens, Sedbergh Vietnam students clearly understand the world issues, such as global warming, recycling, and poverty, and participate in activities that make a difference locally and increase awareness of these concerns. Whether through working with a group of orphans, donating food and clothing to those less fortunate, participating in the Terry Fox Run, or offering English lessons, SSV students are proud to make a small or big difference in others’ lives.

Terry Fox Run 2019

Terry Fox Run in November 2016. For the first time, the annual CISS Terry Fox Run was officially registered with the Terry Fox Foundation. This has allowed our school system to be recognized globally on the official Terry Fox Foundation website and more importantly, has added significant meaning and value to our students and staff in their participation in our Run. CISS is also the largest donor to the HCMC Terry Fox Run, with all funds raised from previous runs going to support the Programme in Pediatric Hematology Oncology Cancer Care in Vietnam (“Programme PHO”). The Programme PHO Consortium is a collaborative programme between the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (HCMC), UT Health Science Center (San Antonio), UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals (San Francisco and Oakland), Khoo Teck Puat-National University Children’s Medical Institute (Singapore), KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (Singapore), and Institut Curie (Paris) for the purpose of building a national workforce for improving research, diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes for children with cancer in Vietnam.
