GRADE 11 CAREER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM EXPLORING THE WORLD OF GRAPHIC DESIGN & COMMUNICATION

The Faculty of Design & Art at Hoa Sen University was among the organizations that welcomed Grade 11 students from Sedbergh Vietnam as part of the school’s career internship program for the 2024–2025 academic year.
Renowned for its strengths in creative education, Hoa Sen University is among the first higher education institutions in Vietnam to achieve international accreditation (NEAS – Australia, ACBSP – USA). The university’s Faculty of Design & Art is known for its hands-on learning approach, trend-focused curriculum, and a faculty team composed of seasoned professionals with industry expertise.

Throughout the week-long internship, students engaged in a thoughtfully curated series of activities designed to offer both a broad overview and real-world insight into the graphic design industry. These included observing major-specific classes, interacting with faculty and alumni, and participating in practical workshops such as watercolor illustration techniques.

Each student was also given an individual creative assignment to complete at home and later joined a final group presentation session. This component helped students sharpen their communication, critical thinking, and ideation skills — all essential tools for any creative discipline.

Sedbergh Vietnam’s faculty actively visited students onsite, gathering feedback and working closely with the host organization to ensure the quality of the experience. This ongoing collaboration between school, business, and students plays a key role in delivering a meaningful and effective career orientation.

This internship is an integral part of Sedbergh Vietnam’s comprehensive career guidance program. Spending a week in a real-world setting helps students better understand different industries, clarify their interests and strengths, and begin to shape an informed academic and career path aligned with their aspirations as they prepare for the final stages of their education.
