“ECO-LIGHT – BRIGHTENING WITH GREEN” – WHEN SEDBERGH VIETNAM STUDENTS TURN KNOWLEDGE INTO ACTION

At Sedbergh Vietnam, learning goes beyond the classroom. Students are encouraged to explore, experiment, and apply knowledge in real-life contexts through interdisciplinary projects.

In the 5-week Science – Technology – ICT project themed “Eco-light – Green Illumination,” students integrated knowledge from various subjects to create an eco-friendly lighting device. They assembled electric circuits, applied digital skills in research, data storage, and creative presentation, and promoted a green mindset by generating sustainable light from natural energy sources using lemons as an alternative power source for the community.

Through research, experimentation, and presentations, students:

✨ Gain a deeper understanding of academic concepts by applying them in practical situations rather than just memorizing formulas.

✨ Develop research, presentation, and project management skills – essential foundations for higher education.

✨ Cultivate problem-solving skills, a key criterion in Cambridge Checkpoint and IGCSE assessments.

Guided by their teachers, students also learn teamwork, time management, and critical thinking – essential skills to confidently thrive in advanced universities worldwide. This process nurtures a range of core competencies, including communication and collaboration, problem-solving and creativity, as well as key subject-specific abilities in numeracy, science, technology, computing, and aesthetics.
