GRADE 11 CAREER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM EXPLORING THE WORLD OF COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING

De Montfort University was among the organizations that welcomed Grade 11 students from Sedbergh Vietnam as part of the school’s career internship program for the 2024–2025 academic year.
De Montfort is a UK-based public university known for its strengths in creative economy disciplines, including communication, marketing, brand management, and design. Through a joint program with the International Office of Hoa Sen University, the internship offered students a firsthand look into an international academic environment shaped by critical thinking, real-world relevance, and adaptability to global professional settings.

Throughout the week, students participated in a variety of activities designed to provide both foundational knowledge and practical insight into the communications and marketing sector. From engaging lectures on marketing fundamentals to site visits and direct business observation at MM Mega Market, students had the chance to connect theory with real-world operations.

In addition to these sessions, students were assigned a project that culminated in an internship report and group presentation — guided and assessed by academic mentors from the university.

Sedbergh Vietnam’s faculty actively visited students onsite, gathering feedback and working closely with the host organization to ensure the quality of the experience. This ongoing collaboration between school, business, and students plays a key role in delivering a meaningful and effective career orientation.

This internship is an integral part of Sedbergh Vietnam’s comprehensive career guidance program. Spending a week in a real-world setting helps students better understand different industries, clarify their interests and strengths, and begin to shape an informed academic and career path aligned with their aspirations as they prepare for the final stages of their education.
