FROM A FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN TO SMILES AFTER LIFE-CHANGING SURGERIES

Following a fundraising initiative at the end of the 2025-2026 academic year, the Scar of Life (SOL) Club, founded and led by Sedbergh Vietnam students, successfully raised about VND 73 million, including charity raffle, fundraising during Christmas and Tet fair, helping provide life-saving heart surgeries for two children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

During a recent visit to the City Children’s Hospital, eight SOL members, accompanied by representatives from Sedbergh Vietnam and Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise, had the opportunity to meet the two children after their successful surgeries. For the students, this was more than the final chapter of a community project. It was a chance to see how months of planning, fundraising and teamwork had been transformed into something truly meaningful: healthier hearts and smiles returned.

The visit also reflected Kindness, one of Sedbergh Vietnam’s four core HARK Values. More than encouraging empathy, it gave students the opportunity to turn compassion into action, take the lead in meaningful initiatives, and create a positive impact on the community around them.
