UNDERSTANDING YOUR CHILD, SUPPORTING THEIR GROWTH & PREPARING TOGETHER FOR THE NEXT STAGE OF GROWTH AT PARENTS CONNECT #2 PRIMARY SCHOOL

Recently, Parents Connect #2 Primary School at Sedbergh Vietnam offered parents valuable perspectives on nurturing emotional well-being and preparing their children for the transition to Lower Secondary School through two sessions featuring meaningful discussions and hands-on activities.

Guided by two SEE Learning® Facilitators from Heart & Mind Edu, parents explored how recognising their own emotions influences the way they respond to their children. The experiential activities highlighted an important insight: before helping children regulate their emotions, parents need to learn to recognise and manage their own, creating opportunities for more positive and empathetic conversations.

Through a session led by Dr Nguyễn Quang Minh, parents gained a better understanding of the changing academic expectations, growing independence and greater personal responsibility that students encounter as they enter Lower Secondary School. The transition to a new school stage is more than simply moving into a new academic programme. It is also a process of building the mindset, skills and emotional readiness that enable children to adapt to new expectations and continue developing their individual strengths.
