OUR LITTLE WOLVES EXPLORE THE POWER OF PUSHING FORCES

What makes a car speed up or slow down? In a Grade 1 Science lesson at Sedbergh Vietnam, our young learners explored this question through hands-on experiments, from pushing a box to building simple model cars and testing how they move down an inclined plane.

The lesson began with a story that introduced students to how forces affect movement. They then took part in a practical experiment, pushing a box and observing changes in its speed to discover how an applied force can make an object move faster or slower. Students put their learning into practice by building their own simple model cars and testing them on an inclined plane.

As part of the Stars Pathway at Sedbergh Vietnam, hands-on activities like these create meaningful learning experiences from the early Primary years. Rather than simply memorising scientific concepts, students are encouraged to ask questions, observe, experiment, and explore the reasons behind everyday phenomena.
